Kurdish demonstrators for Öcalan attacked in Geneva, six detained

Police intervened the Kurdish demonstrators protesting for Öcalan in front of the UN building in Geneva. Six youths were detained.

A group of Kurdish demonstrators gathered outside the United Nations building in Geneva to protest the aggravated isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Turkey.

Some of the demonstrators wanted to enter the UN building amid intense security measures. They were intervened by police on overcoming the barriers and entering the garden of the building. Police therewith attacked the mass with tear gas and batons. Six were detained as a result of the intervention and demonstrators started a sit-in in response to the intervention.

Security measures around the UN building were tightened.
