Heviya Azadiye (Hope of Freedom) is the name of the Kurdish Film Festival opening today in Rome. The festival is at its fourth edition and will take place a the Aquila cinema.
Some 30 films are going to be shown at the festival, from the four parts in which Kurdistan is divided as well as from Europe.
Tonight at 6pm actor, singer and performer Moni Ovadia will present a reading which will officially open the festival.
Two debates will take place during the festival, one on Friday 13 dedicated to women, peace and Kurdistan and the second on Saturday 14 to freedom of the press and freedom of expression.
The festival is organized by the Association Europa Levante.
