HPG (People's Defense Forces) Kirkuk Command issued a written statement about the ongoing operation of Kurdish forces against ISIS gangs in Kirkuk.

Remarking that Kurdish forces continued to advance in the ongoing operation, HPG recalled that the villages of Shexh Sener, Umerya Buçuk, El Bufereç, Navafir, Minzir, Meriyete, Şemsiye and the hamlets of Yumrik, Şehit, Nur were liberated in the operation conducted in an area extending from Beşili and Meryem Beg line in Kirkuk.

As part of the ongoing joint operations, guerrilla and peshmerga forces carried out a joint operation against the Banşax area in Zanqir village to the south of Kirkuk yesterday.

The area held by ISIS gangs was liberated in the operation during which a guerrilla was wounded while the number of casualties on ISIS side couldn't be made clear, HPG statement added.
