Kurdish hunger strike in Strasbourg on day 63

Hunger strikers Koç reiterated that they will continue their fast till isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is lifted and called on everyone to join and support the actions.

The indefinite hunger strike launched in Strasbourg on 17 December 2018 has reached its 63rd day.

On Sunday, a group of the Alevi from Bavaria visited the hunger strikers. 

Speaking on behalf of the German Alevi Union Federation (AABF), Ercan Kara, greeted the activists and stated that their struggle was an honorable struggle.

Kara said the action will be successful and expressed the Federation solidarity with the activists.

Kemal Özer, chair of the Bavarian Alevi Union Federation stated that this struggle was carried out for democracy and brotherhood of the people.

Özer underlined that a very difficult process was waiting ahead and commended the struggle carried out by the hunger strikers. He reminded of the critical stage some of the activists found themselves in as their health worsen. 

He urged the Turkish state to meet the demand of the hunger strikers. 

KCDK-E co-chair Yüksel Koç met the Alevi delegation.

AABF Bavarian 2nd President Suleyman Özturk condemned the massacres in Kurdistan, injustice and unlawfulness, and commended the struggle. 

Stating that the struggle of the Kurdish people is an honorable struggle, Öztürk called on all the oppressed people to reclaim the hunger strike actions. 

Speaking on behalf of the hunger strikers, Koç said that these visits give activists a great morale. He underlined how the Turkish state crashed people’s beliefs for centuries.
