Kurdish activist Yusuf Iba who has been on an indefinite and non-alternating hunger strike in Toronto, Canada, for 22 days felt faint Saturday evening and was taken to hospital. Iba, like hundreds of other activists, is demanding an end to the aggravated isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
An ambulance was called for Iba, who is carrying out his strike in the Toronto Kurdish Society Center, and he was then taken to hospital.
Having refused to be treated, Iba returned to the Kurdish Society Center where he continues his hunger strike.
Speaking there, Iba said; “We will not accept treatment unless the isolation on Öcalan is ended and we will continue our action until we achieve a result.”
