Kurdish Institutions in Armenia release statement on Imrali fire

"As Kurdish Institutions operating in Armenia, we demand the lawyers of Öcalan to be granted access to Imrali and explain to the people what is happening."

The Armenian Kurdish Union, the Armenian Free Women's Union (YJA) and the Kurdistan Committee issued a joint written statement about the fire in Imralı.

In the written statement, the Kurdish institutions expressed their concern about the news of fire in Imrali and the lack of details.

The statement said: "The fact that a fire breaks out in this season, is itself raising suspicion. Conspiracies and dirty tricks by the Turkish State are known in history. It is known that they carried out many crimes against humanity. Turkey carries out crimes and then tries to cover them up. It is known that the Turkish state makes statements to see the reaction of the Kurdish people, which is why this statement on the fire is suspicious."

The statement continued: "The Kurdish Institutions in Armenia are holding all the powers involved in the international conspiracy and the CPT responsible for any negative developments regarding the health and safety of Leader Apo."

The statement call upon "these powers, human rights institutions and the world public to fulfill their responsibilities. As Kurdish Institutions operating in Armenia, we demand the lawyers of Öcalan to be granted access to Imrali and explain to the people what is happening."
