After visiting Van yesterday DTK co-chairs Ahmet Türk and Aysel Tuðluk and BDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaþ and Gültan Kýþanak have gone to the Kurdistan Federal Region.
The Kurdish politicians have spent the Bayram feast (Sacrifice Feast) with the people of Van. The region was hit by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on Sunday 23 October. Thousand of people are living in tents under prohibitive weather conditions.
The visit to the Kurdistan Federal Region is thought to be in relation to the organization of the Kurdish national conference. The Kurdish politicians will meet with Iraqi president, Celal Talabani, as well as with KDP leader Mesud Barzani. Barzani is only back from his trip to Turkey where he met Turkish highest authorities.
