Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN) said in a statement that they will take to the streets in Paris, Düsseldorf and Zurich today to demand freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, within the framework of the “Cenga Azadiyê Serbixin” campaign.

The TCŞ and TekoJIN issued a joint statement to underline that no news had been heard from Abdullah Öcalan for approximately 28 months. The statement said: "Kurdish young people should act to achieve freedom for Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]" and urged them to join the protests in the three European cities.

The statement continued: “As young people living in various European countries, we have to act with historical responsibility and make sure that this process will be the process that leads to the physical freedom of Leader Apo. On this basis, it is our duty to organize and take action.”

The statement said: “Since 25 March 2021, there has been no news from our Leader. The repeated applications by lawyers, family and guardians to visit Imrali went unanswered. At a time in which the fascist Erdogan regime's attacks in many parts of Kurdistan, starting from Medya Defense Areas, and these attacks result in defeat, the regime further aggravates the isolation against our Leader. The resistance of our Leader in Imrali inspires us and determines our basic line of struggle. Our Leader's glorious resistance in Imrali has thwarted the international conspiracy. We can increase the struggle if we continue our resistance.”

The statement continued: “It is our duty to organize and take action. The popular mobilizations that took place in the last period, combined with the resistance carried out by the Freedom Guerrillas, created a magnificent resistance around the Leadership. It is essential for us to come together around this resistance, to develop policies that will break this isolation.”

‘To destroy the Imrali system and provide freedom is our primary mission’

The statement underlined that “despite the absolute isolation, Leader Apo broke the walls of Imrali, overcame and presented his paradigm to the world. That’s why the phrase ‘Imrali is the center of the war’ should be understood very well. Leader Apo instils fear into the hearts of hegemonic capitalist powers today. That's why they conspired against Leader Apo 25 years ago. That's why they tried to continue the isolation conditions by aggravating them. Leader Apo is everything to us, and our most important duty and responsibility is to destroy the İmralı system and achieve the physical freedom of Leader Apo. In this context, we are launching the act of action on 29 July  and we call on every young person in Europe, especially young people in Germany, France and Switzerland, to attend the demonstrations.”
