The long march started by Kurdish youth yesterday from the German city of Mannheim to the French city of Strasbourg with the motto 'Free Serok Apo, Free Kurdistan, Free Life' continues in its second day. The march is organised by Kurdish youth as part of the 'Freedom for Öcalan, Status for Kurdistan' marches held across Europe.
Participants of the march have gathered at the Friedhof Square in Hockenheim before resuming their march towards Strasbourg this morning.
Carrying posters of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and chanting 'Freiheit für Öcalan', youths are handing out leaflets throughout the course of the march that provide detailed information about the isolation Öcalan is subjected to by the Turkish state in İmralı Island Prison.
The marchers aim to walk 26 kilometers today as they continue walking from Hockenheim to Bruchsal. Participants of the march will be attending the mass rally to be held in Strasbourg on February 11 to condemn the 15 February 1998 international plot against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
