The 3rd Martyr Şervan Varto and Martyr Ferhat Çem Festival took place in Normandy, France.

Organised by the Democratic Kurdish Community Centre the festival was attended by a large crowd of both Kurds and French people of all age.

Despite the hot weather people flocked to the festival. The Normandy Organization Committee pointed out in its opening speech, the importance of this festival for youth. The activities begun with a minute of silence.

The mayor of Magnanville, Michel Lebouc, was awarded a special prize for his friendship and solidarity by the festival organisers.

Twelve football teams participated to the tournament. Varto Sports won, followed by FC 94 (Villeneuve saint Georges), SEAT XWES (Les Mureaux), ATHLETIC AMED (Drancy).

The cups were given by martyr families, youth and co-presidents.

Volleyball matches also were played by young people enthusiasm.
