Kurds in Mersin want answer on Roboski massacre

Kurds are on streets, demanding an answer to the slaughter of the Turkish army which left 35 civilians dead on 28 December.

Mersin city which has a high Kurdish population has also witnessed events and clashes between police and demonstrators since the slaughter of Kurdish civilians by F-16 warplanes.

A molotov cocktail attack targeted the house and car of Demirtaþ Neighborhood headman last night in Toroslar district of the city.

The attack which was performed by a group who called itself “Sworn Zilan Revenge Brigade” reportedly targeted the district governor on the grounds of being an agent and supporter of the AKP government. Demonstrators remarked that they staged this act as a reaction to Roboski slaughter and the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Events continued in other places as well with the slogans of “revenge”. Young Kurdish demonstrators set fire to some workplaces and houses in Yenipazar neighborhood as a protest act against the slaughter of Kurdish people.
