Kurds in Marseille held a sit-in in front of the European Parliament Representative Office to protest the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and demand his physical freedom.
Activists said: "We have not heard anything about Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] and other prisoners in Imrali for more than two years. We do not accept this unlawfulness. Steps should be taken to ensure that he gets a visit immediately by his family and lawyers."
Enes Karlıova, co-chair of the Marseille Kurdish People's Assembly, made a call to the Kurdish people: "Unless we stand up, the isolation of Leader Apo will continue. We should come together to stand by Leader Apo and take to the streets."
Karlıova also called on everyone to attend the march to be held in Lausanne, on 22 July on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne.
