Kurds protest against Turkish offensive in France and Canada

The Kurds living in France and Canada took to the streets to protest the Turkish invasion attacks in Kurdistan.

The Kurdish people in France and Canada are continuing to protest the Turkish invasion attacks and the KDP in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

MARSEILLE

Following the call of KCDK-E, Kurds poured on the streets in the city of Marseille, France. The protestors demonstrated in front of the European Representation in Marseille for two hours, displaying PKK flags and posters of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

“We need to be on the streets every hour and minute. The guerrillas are resisting splendidly and inflicting heavy blows on the enemy forces,” Fethi Tatos said in a speech on behalf of the Kurdish Democratic Community Center.

The protestors announced that a sit-in action would be held in front of the European Representation at 13.00 today.

MARIGNANE

The Kurdish young activists, who came together under the auspices of the Kurdish youth movement TCŞ (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger) in the Marignane region of Marseille, expressed their support for the guerrilla resistance.

Posters of Öcalan and PKK flags were displayed during the action where the Turkish invasion attacks and the KDP's betrayal were protested.

TORONTO

in Toronto, Canada, Kurds rallied following the call of the Toronto Democratic Kurdish People's Assembly and the Sara Free Women Commune and protested the Turkish incursion into Kurdistan in Bloor-Yonge Square. They held a protest march that lasted 2 hours and ended outside the Toronto Municipality building.

The activists with posters of Öcalan, PKK and YPG/YPJ flags chanted slogans such as "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan", "Long live the guerrilla resistance", "PKK is not alone", "Freedom for Kurdistan", "We will win by resisting", "PKK is the people, the people are here", "Turkish regime is killing the Kurds", "Fascist Erdoğan" and "Turkey, out of Kurdistan".

200 leaflets in English were distributed in the most crowded areas of the city.

The activists read out a press statement in English and Turkish in front of Toronto City Hall. “Erdoğan's aggression is targeting Kurdistan once again. The policy of denial and war against the Kurdish people is the key feature of the Turkish state and Erdoğan. We condemn these attacks and demand that Turkey withdraw its troops from Kurdistan immediately,” the statement said.

The protest was concluded following a moment of silence and the Çerxa Şoreşê Anthem.
