Kurds protesting against military operations

Kurdish people in Turkey have stood up against military operations. People in Suruc, district of Sanliurfa and Mersin marched against military operations following Adana, Derik; district of Mardin, Taslicay; district of Agri, Izmir and MKM’s (Mesopotamia Culture Centre) protest. On the other hand, police tried to block march in Yuksekova district of Hakkari by throwing gas bombs. Five activists have been taken into custody in Mersin following the police intervention on the meeting.

The common demand of the people was for the AKP administration to stop the operations in order to allow the search for peaceful solution of the Kurdish question in Turkey.

Kurds in Suruc and Mersin have held a protest to condemn military operations. In Mersin and Yuksekova demonstration were attacked by police.

According to information, five demonstrators in Mersin have been taken into custody while incidents in Yuksekova went on all day.
