The 12th anniversary of international conspiracy against PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan will be protested with a big march and public meeting. Thousands of people living in European countries are preparing to meet in Strasbourg city of France on Saturday, February 12th to condemn the conspiracy.
Strasbourg will host the 12th ''Black Day'' protest which is organized each year after Öcalan’s being captured with an uncommon conspiracy on 15 February 1999.
The preparations are in the final phase for the public meeting and the protest march called “Freedom for Öcalan, Peace in Kurdistan, We Salute Democratic Autonomy” which will be organized by Federation of Kurdish Associations in France (Fey-KA).
Giving information to ANF about the act, Veli Tekin from Fey-KA Administrative Board and March Coordination Committee called thousands of Kurdish people and allies living in Europe to meet in Strasbourg on Saturday and to protect national leader Öcalan.
Demonstrators will gather in front of Strasbourg Gare Centrale (Central Train Station) on Saturday by 08:00 a.m. for the march and the public meeting for which all official permissions were obtained. The march will start by 11:00 a.m. and end by Rue des Vanneaux next to Place de Meinau. A public demonstration will be held after the march where women will be wearing national dresses and men will be dressed in black for the protest.
DEMÝRTAÞ AND KURDISH FRIENDS TO ATTEND THE MEETING
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Co-Chairman Selahattin Demirtaþ will also attend the public meeting this year where demonstrators will stand in silence at 13:00. The public meeting is expected to be supported by a large number of parliamentarians from the European Parliament.
