Kurds to vote in Moscow

While the ballot boxes will be open in Russia on 30-31 May for people to vote in the 7 June elections in Turkey, the HDP Moscow election committee has stepped up its work, calling on everyone from Kurdistan living in Russia to vote.

While the ballot boxes will be open in Russia on 30-31 May for the people who can vote for the 7 June elections in Turkey, the HDP Moscow election committee has stepped up its work, calling on all the people from Kurdistan living in Russia to vote.

Moscow HDP election committee member Heval Şeyh said the committee has been working hard in Moscow to reach people who can vote in the elections and recalled that the voting will take place on 30-31 May at the Turkish embassy in Moscow between 10:00-19:00. Şeyh said there is a growing Kurdish community in Russia and that they have set up election committees everywhere to reach those people and to encourage them to vote, adding that they have received positive responses.

Şeyh said the voters living abroad are more sensitive about the upcoming election than the voters living in Turkey, adding that it is especially important for the Kurdish people. “The Kurdish people, discriminated and excluded from the system, want to be represented in parliament by the HDP” said Şeyh.
