Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block independent Candidate Ertuðrul Kürkçü have today attended the openings of two election offices, meeting with opinion leaders in Yenice town and meeting the women of Demirtas Neighborhood.
At the opening of two election offices in Atgirmez village, densely populated by Arabs and Kurds, and Dikenliyol Neighborhood; Labor, Democracy and Freedom Independent Candidate Ertuðrul Kürkçü was accompanied by BDP PM member Mehmet Doymaz, BDP Provincial Chair Cihan Yýlmaz, Akdeniz Mayor M. Fazýl Türk, provincial and district administrators and components of the block.
Beginning his speech with the people’s demonstration of affection and slogans, Ertuðrul Kürkçü said the followings; “Our goal is to end the ongoing conflict in Turkey, to change Mr Abdullah Ocalan’s detention conditions and to initiate a peace process. In addition to the demands of the Kurdish people, Mr Ocalan is also needed to sustain the peace talks because he is the only political leader who has presented a clear peace project to Turkey today.”
‘WE ASK YOUR MANDATE TO CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION'
Underlining that the Kurdish people have continue their existence despite all denial, destruction, genocide, deportation and all kinds of assimilation policies, Kürkçü spoke as follows; “You did not bend your heads; you brought forward your own case. Now, this case has to be concluded in peaceful and positive way. We want to go to parliament for a new constitution and therefore, we ask for your mandate. We shall bury the 10 percent electoral threshold into the polls all together here.”
Joining the women’s activities in Demirtas Neighborhood, Kürkçü called on women to an active participation in politics. Making a speech here, Kürkçü said; “You women should do all you can to have an active participation in the coming elections in 2013. Women should now become the rulers, not the ruled ones. You should devote more time to reading and looking at the outside world. You should give your response to those who tell you to do house works. This is the way to reach the point you target in politics and work life. In this election, we will prove our strength to everybody. We will show the power of Kurdish women.”
MASS MARCH BY WOMEN TO THE PEACE TENT
Kürkçü’s speech was followed by a massive march of two thousand people to the Democratic Solution Tent which was attended by Kürkçü also and accompanied by slogans.
