The fate of the last PKK prisoner who escaped from Bingöl jail with 17 other inmates, remains unclear. Contradictory reports are being released from different media and no official authorities statement has yet been issued. Ekrem Taş, so the fugitive has been named, was said to have been captured yesterday afternoon but late in the evening some media contradict the news saying indeed the man was still on the run and the army were still searching for him.

Eighteen PKK prisoners escaped from Bingöl jail two days ago via a tunnel they are believed to have dug over a year period. Seventeen of the men were captured on Thursday, said Interior Minister Muammer Güler.
