The operation started by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to cleanse the Tabqa city and Dam of ISIS continues at full force in its 17th day. SDF fighters have besieged the Tabqa city from three sides amid violent clashes with ISIS groups.
While SDF fighters have liberated an area of 6 km2 since Monday evening, at least 50 ISIS members have been killed during ceaseless clashes ongoing in North and South Safsafah villages for 36 hours. More than 10 suicide attacks were foiled, 8 vehicles were destroyed and a large quantity of ammunition was seized from the gangs during the past 36 hours of fighting.
Dicle News Agency (dihaber) reporter Nazım Daştan and SDF Press member Mazlum Doğan were slightly injured during yesterday's clashes while covering the operation in Safsafah villages. Two fighters of the SDF lost their lives.
