Libertarian Lawyers Platform (ÖHP) members Şükran Öztürk and Yunus Emre Güneş have paid a solidarity visit to the Conscience and Justice Vigil held by the People's Democratic Party (HDP) in İzmir's Gündoğdu Square, and called on all lawyers to support the activity for law and justice.

Lawyers Güneş and Öztürk spoke to ANF about the importance of the vigil action.

Calling attention to the injustice prevailing in Turkey, mainly against the Kurds and the Kurdistan territory, Güneş said: "In the prisons you can witness the most extreme practices of unlawfulness. We, as the Libertarian Lawyers Platform, resist against the unlawfulness, and therefore stand here with the Conscience and Justice Vigil."

Addressing his remarks to the lawyers and judicial authorities in İzmir, Güneş said: “We all advocate and need law and justice. All our colleagues should join the vigil. I call on the bar associations to definitely support this vigil.”

Şükran Öztürk said they attach great importance to the vigil which –she said- is quite befitting the current process in order to denounce fascism to the whole society. Öztürk also called for public support for the vigil in such a process when justice and conscience is trampled on to this extent.

Öztürk called on mainly lawyers to support the vigil, adding: “It is us, lawyers, that must stand with the Conscience and Justice Vigil so that a system whose injustice we can never represent can never get a foothold."
