We will see our imprisoned companions among us. Leader Apo, whom you have been longing to see again and for whom you set your bodies on fire, will also be among us.”
Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block’s Diyarbakir Independent MP Candidate Serafettin Elçi organized a feast in Ofis town of Yenisehir/Diyarbakýr which was joined by BDP and KADEP district and provincial administrators as well as hundreds of citizens.
The feast, which was also joined by the fellows of Mustafa Malkoc, who burnt himself on February 15, at the anniversary of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan’s being brought to Turkey, witnessed slogans “Comrade Mustafa is immortal” and banners “Mothers damn, children throw stones. Erdogan cannot come to here.”
'Our freedom march will not end’
Making a speech here, Serafettin Elçi noted that Kurds have never been a captive of the cruel in the history and today they are once again resisting honorably against those who deem cruelty proper to them. Elçi indicated that not any steps have been taken for years on the ground of enabling Kurdish national alliance, adding that significant steps have been taken to strengthen national unity of Kurds. Making a mention of their visit to Federal Kurdistan Region in recent days, Elçi said; “We have brought you greetings from Northern and Southern Kurdistan. This step towards the liberation of Kurds will be carried to a step further. Our freedom march will continue. We need to strengthen our national unity if we don’t want Kurds to be exposed to death, exile and tortures”. Answering the slogans "Þehit namirin", Elçi said: “True, the martyrs don’t die, they live in our hearts. On June 12, we will give an unforgettable slap in the face of the AKP government which has been responding to democratic rights and demands of the Kurdish people with pressure, torture and arrests. The Block’s strength at polls will also strengthen the representation of the Kurdish people.”
The speeches were followed by the musical concert of Hozan Cömert, one of the important names of Kurdish music.
