Welat Encü, 22-year-old brother of 17-year-old Serhat Encü, who was killed in the Roboski massacre on December 28 by Turkish warplanes, wrote a letter to the Turkish authorities. In the massacre 35 people were killed.
Here is the text of the letter.
“Hey you, heartless murderers who dehumanize life. They (35 people including 19 minors and my brother) did not deserve to be killed by this atrocious assault.
Hey blood-shedders! They were forced to be on that path to feed their families, to earn money for their school, to earn money for bread and butter. Every one has a unique personal story full of pain. Are you ready to hear some of these stories?
Serhat Encü, (17) was there to earn money for two college students brothers, since no one can work in his family but him.
Cemal Encü, (16) high school student, was there to pay his own school.
Hamza Encü, (21) was there to support his family.
Þerafettin Encü, (16) high school student, with no mother, was there for his pocket money.
Bedran Encü, (14), middle school student, was there as breadwinner being the oldest boy in the family.
Þivan Encu, (16), high school student without father, was there to take care of his mum.
Aslan Encu, (17), was there to take care of his family. He has an old father and a handicapped brother who stepped on a mine six years ago.
Calal Encu, (18), he was there to not be a burden on his family by earning his own money.
Hüseyin Encu, (19) was there as the oldest son of his family.
Selam Encu, (22) was my high school friend, he just graduated from college. He was there to earn money to take an exam for job.
Fadýl Encu, (19) was there as the oldest son in his family.
Hey bloodthirsty killers, they were there for a couple of gallon of gas, 30 kilograms of tea, two sacks of sugar. They were there for only 50 Turkish Lira [less than 25 euro] to support their families or earn their school money.
Oppressing this people for years was not enough for you and you begin to kill them without any question. They have no power to bring you to account. I leave the punishment to God.”
