DIE LINKE MPS CALL ON MERKEL GOVERNMENT

The call was signed by 20 MPs, including Co-chair Bernd Riexinger, and stressed that the federal government led by Angela Merkel is not reacting to the events in Turkey.

The call said: “As a leading country in the Council of Europe, Germany could save the lives of hunger strikers by ensuring that the rule of law is implemented in prisons in Turkey. Take action now for human life, not commercial relationships.”
