Limassol pays tribute to Martyrs of 14 July 1982 and HPG guerrillas who fell as martyrs in Zap

The martyrs of the 14 July 1982 Great Death Fast and the HPG guerrillas who fell as martyrs in Zap in the past months were commemorated with an event in Limassol.

HPG guerrillas Didar Harun (Gülistan Akgöl), Özgür Memyan (Serfiraz Akyüz) and Zemanî Rojhat (Mehmet Yavuzel), who fell as martyrs on different dates and the martyrs of the 14 July 1982 Great Death Fast Resistance were celebrated in the city of Limassol, Cyprus.

The garden of the Cyprus Teofilos Kurdish Cultural Center, where the commemoration event was held, was decorated with a giant poster of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, as well as the photos of the leaders of the 14 July resistance, Kemal Pir, Hayri Durmuş, Ali Çiçek, Akif Yılmaz and HPG guerrillas Didar Harun, Özgür Memyan and Zemanî Rojhat.

After a minute’s silence, the spokesperson of the Martyr Families Committee of the Kurdish People's Assembly of Cyprus addressed the crowd.

Then, a video about the 14 July Great Death Fast Resistance and the speech by KCK Executive Council co-chair Cemil Bayık on 14 July were screened.

At the end of the event, artists belonging to the Culture and Art Committee took the stage and sang songs about the Amed prison resistance. The event ended with the slogans “Martyr namirin” and “Bijî Serok Apo”.
