"Long March" for Abdullah Öcalan to take place in September in Germany

In September, a "Long March" for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan will take place in Germany.

Every year, so-called "Long Marches" for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan take place.

This year, too, from 15 to 20 September, Kurdish and internationalist activists will demonstrate together for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

The "Long March" will kick off in Bielefeld and stop in various stages in cities in the Ruhr area. The action is taking place as part of the global campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish question". Activists from Germany, France, Austria, England and many other countries in Europe are expected to attend the march.

The organizing committee of the action called on Kurdish and internationalist activists to take part in the protest. The action is particularly important this year in view of the escalating war in all parts of Kurdistan and the fact that there has been no sign of life from Abdullah Öcalan for over three years.

The organizing committee stated: "We will unite as Kurdish and internationalist youth; we will resist and win against capitalism, fascism and colonialism. We will continue to fight to realize our dream of liberation together with Rêber Apo."

The plan for the six-day march is as follows:

15 September - Meeting - Herbert Hinnendahl-Strasse 11, 33602 Bielefeld
15 September - Day 1 - Conference on the person and ideology of Abdullah Öcalan
16 September - Day 2 - Bielefeld
17 September - Day 3 - Hamm
18 September - Day 4 - Dortmund
19 September - Day 5 - Essen
20 September - Day 6 - Duisburg.
