Long March in France continues in Chauny on its 19th day

Calling for strong participation in the Strasbourg rally, the participants of the Long March in France said: “Let's turn February 15th into a day of freedom in Strasbourg.”

The 26-day “Long March” launched in France on 21 January continues on its 19th day. The action, which draws public attention to Öcalan’s 26 years of captivity in the İmralı Island Prison in Turkey, is organised as part of the international campaign launched in October 2023, demanding “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish question”.

The activists will conclude the action with a rally in Strasbourg on February 15, the anniversary of the international conspiracy that resulted in the capture of the Kurdish leader in Kenya and his handover to Turkey in 1999.

On the 19th day of their action, the activists continued their march in Chauny where they met with Kurdish residents in front of the city hall.

The activists called for strong participation in the central march and rally to be held in Strasbourg on February 15th, when Abdullah Öcalan is expected to make a historic call.

“Let's turn February 15th into a day of freedom in Strasbourg,” said the activists who will resume their march in Reims tomorrow, the 20th day of the action.
