Long March in Germany to kick off on September 11

The long march, traditionally organized every year in Europe, will be held this year under the motto 'Dest Bi Dest – Mil Bi Mil; Werin Cenga Azadiyê’ from Cologne to Aachen in Germany on September 11-16.

The Long March, which is traditionally organized each year to demand the physical freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, will be carried out between September 11-16 from Cologne to Aachen in Germany, under the motto "Dest bi Dest - Mil bi Mil: Werin Cenga Azadiyê".

Hundreds of young people from all over Europe including France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and England, are expected to participate in the march which will be organized as part of the "Werin Cenga Azadiyê" campaign.

In a statement, the organizing committee highlighted the importance of the long march at a time of Turkish state fascism escalating in all parts of Kurdistan, aggravated isolation on Öcalan and betrayal in Kurdistan.

Calling on the Kurdish and internationalist youth to participate in the action, the organizing committee wants to give a message to the European states which cooperate with the fascist Turkish state militarily, politically and economically and give green light to the Kurdish genocide.

“We will unite as Kurdish and internationalist youth; we will resist and win against capitalism, fascism and colonialism,” the organizing committee said.

Young people will gather in Cologne, Germany on September 10 for the Long March – Meşa Dirêj, which will be attended by young activists from all over Europe.
