Long march in solidarity with hunger strikes started in Italy

A long march has been commenced in Milan, Italy to draw attention on hunger strikes against the isolation of Öcalan.

Kurds and their friends continue their protests across Europe and all around the world to express their solidarity with more than 7 thousand prisoners and dozens of activists who have been taking part in a massive hunger strike and death fast protest. The action demands the end of the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

In the Italian city of Milan, a demonstration was held in front of the City Council to raise awareness for the hunger strike protest.

After reading the statement, Italian activist Paolo Limonda gave the municipal authorities a dossier on hunger strikes.

Following the statement, a long march involving several cities has been commenced.

The march will end in the city of Firenza on June 5. The activists are expecting to arrive in Lodi on May 22, in Piacenza on May 24, in Fiorenzuola on May 25, in Parma on May 27, in Reggio Emilia on May 28, in Modena on May 29 and in Bologna on May 31.
