Many taken into custody in Istanbul in new police operation

A large number of people have been taken into custody in Bahçelievler, Küçükçekmece, Esenyurt and Beyoğlu boroughs of Istanbul in the latest of the political genocide operations.

Turkish police carried out raids in many houses in the Istanbul boroughs of Bahçelievler, Küçükçekmece, Esenyurt and Beyoğlu at around 5 am this morning.

Many people, including Peace Mother Canşah Cemile Çelik, HDP Bahçelievler District Administrator Serkan Yılmaz, HDP Provincial Organization building security guard Mustafa Turgut, and Adem Özyurt in the district of Esenyurt, were taken into custody.

While Çelik and Yılmaz were taken to the Maslak Provincial Gendarmerie Command, it was not possible to establish where the other detainees had been taken.
