Kurdish youth movements TCŞ (Revolutionary Youth Movement) and TEKO-JIN (Young Combative Women's Movement) and internationalists started a march in Hanau town of Germany last week.
The joint action, which kicked off following a rally in Hanau, is organized to mark the anniversary of the February 15, 1999 conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan which led to his deportation from Kenya to Turkey in violation of international law.
The march continued on its fourth day in Darmstadt where activists gathered in front of the train station at 14:00 and marched towards Friedensplatz. After two hours of march, they reached the Friedensplatz Square where they held a rally, which was also participated by members of the cultural movement TEV-ÇAND.
The activists will meet at Manheim Feuerwehrwache at 14.30 on February 9, on the fifth day of the action.
Before tomorrow’s action, constituents will gather at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center in Mannheim at 11 a.m. and hold a commemoration to pay tribute to Martyr Ronahi and Berivan at the site of their action.
In Mannheim, Kurdish women Bedriye Taş (Ronahî) and Nilgün Yıldırım (Bêrîvan) burned themselves to death on March 21, 1994 in protest against the ban on Newroz celebrations in the Federal Republic and Germany's involvement in the war in Kurdistan.
