March from Mannheim to Strasbourg in its third day

Youths from Kurdistan continue their march from the German city of Mannheim to the French city of Strasbourg in its third day.

The long march started by Kurdish youth from the German city of Mannheim to the French city of Strasbourg with the motto 'Free Serok Apo, Free Kurdistan, Free Life' continues in its third day. The march is organised by Kurdish youth as part of the 'Freedom for Öcalan, Status for Kurdistan' marches held across Europe.

Carrying posters of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and chanting 'Freiheit für Öcalan', youths are handing out leaflets throughout the course of the march that provide detailed information about the isolation Öcalan is subjected to by the Turkish state in İmralı Island Prison.

Participants of the march faced an attack by Turkish fascists yesterday as they arrived Bruchsal after covering 26 kilometers. The Turkish mob of some 30 fascists was repelled by the Kurdish demonstrators and it grabbed attention that German police intervened the Turkish group belatedly. The demonstrators are accompanied by around 200 police, 30 police minibuses, 3 police horses and dozens of police vehicles today after yesterday's attack.

The Kurdish youths aim to reach the German city of Karlsruhe this evening after marching 25 kilometers. Demonstrators will attend a commemoration in memory of Cizre victim Mehmet Tunç at Kurdish People's Center in the city in the evening.
