Hundreds of people marched in Athens to pay tribute to PKK Central Committee member Kasım Engin and to protest the Turkish state attacks.
Hundreds of people gathered in Akademia Square in Athens to join the demo promoted by the Kurdistan Cultural Centre and Revolutionary Youth Movement to commemorate PKK Central Committee member Kasım Engin.
Engin fell martyr following an air raid carried out by the invading Turkish state. Activists also protested the occupation attacks the Turkish state is continuing to carry out.
A statement in Greek condemned the invasion attacks of the Turkish state and the arrest of the representatives of the people in North Kurdistan.
The march arrived to the Turkish consulate where a rally was held, despite the heavy police presence. Speaking at the rally, Kurdish politician Selim Sadak said that Kurdish people are struggling everywhere for human values.
Sadak added: “Revolutionary leaders and all parts of Kurdistan are targeted by warplanes, representatives of the Kurdish people and deputies are arrested. This happened before, but the Kurdish people did not bend. The Kurdish people did not bow and won’t bow.”
