On the night of 2 july at 02:00 AM Mr. Osman Baydemir, mayor of Diyarbakir has been rushed to the ER of Diyarkabir German Hospital after complaints of chest pain, headache and anxiety. Mr. Baydemir has been accompanied by his consultant Dr. Ýlhan Diken. The first intervention has been performed by cardiology specialist Dr. Haci Çiftçi.

Dr. Çiftçi said, during their investigations and evaluations they found out that one of the cardiac enzymes was high. The mayor has been diagnosed with "a heart spasm".

Dr.Çiftçi said, they will keep Mr. Osman Baydemir a few days in hospital for observation.

The doctors stated that Mr. Baydemir’s overall situation is good and he is resting in the hospital's cardiology department.
