Meeting in Bergamo demands 'Stop the War, Freedom for Öcalan'

A meeting was held in Bergamo with the slogan "Stop the War, Freedom for Öcalan".

Former Senator Giovanna Capelli, Communist Party General Secretary Ezio Locatelli, Palestinian parliamentarian Ali Rashid and Italian Kurdistan Information representative Serkan Xozatlı attended a meeting in the Italian city of Bergamo.

A call was made to increase peace protests against the ongoing war in Kurdistan and Palestine. Activists at the meeting underlined the isolation situation of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and said that the ideas developed by Öcalan were the source of solutions to the problems experienced in Kurdistan and the Middle East region.

Participants emphasized that Abdullah Öcalan should be freed as soon as possible. The stand with Öcalan's books also attracted great attention at the meeting.

The event ended with the presentation of the meal prepared by the Bergamo Kurdish committee. The proceeds from the night were delivered to the Kurdish committee to be sent to the Maxmur refugee camp.
