Memorial for PKK Central Committee member Kasım Engin in Rome

Kasım Engin, a member of the PKK Central Committe, who fell martyr in the air raid by the invading Turkish state on 27 May, was commemorated in Rome.

Kasım Engin (Ismail Nazlıkul) fell martyr as a result of the airstrikes carried out by Turkish state warplanes on 27 May. A memorial was held in Rome to pay tribute to him.

A large number of Kurds and Italians attended the memorial held at the Ararat Cultural Center. Welat Bagok, from Komlat Kurda, said: "The Kurdish freedom movement has seen thousands of martyrs, from Haki Karer to Kasım Engin."

Bagok added that Engin was a valuable commander who was loved by his comrades and served in many fields of the struggle. “He was a humble, knowledgeable and devoted revolutionary. Our duty is to renew our commitment to history and responsibility. It is our duty to expand the struggle for freedom.”
