MEP Miguel Urban Crespo from the Spanish left wing party Podemos visited the indefinite non-alternating hunger strike in Strasbourg and met with KCDK-E Co-chair Yuksel Koc.

Crespo was accompanied by HDP’s European Representative Faik Yagizay.

LETTER TO MOGHERINI

Miguel Urban Crespo said the hunger strike against the isolation is an important protest for human rights and added that his party supports the hunger strikes in every platform, including the EP.

Crespo said they will send a letter prepared by MEPs on the isolation and the hunger strikes to High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini next week.

Crespo said they submitted a demand in the Turkey report voted on in the EP yesterday that the PKK be removed from the list of terrorist organizations, but their proposal was not yet accepted.

NEED SUPPORT FROM ALL

KCDK-E Co-chair Yuksel Koc said all European politicians and governments should pressure Turkey to avoid loss of life, not just leftist parties.

Koc said there are thousands of people on hunger strikes and stressed that people resorting to hunger strikes for such a clear violation of human rights as the isolation is the result of the current air of silence.
