During the operation which left Cezmi Budak, former branch chair of HDP in Diyadin, and 2 HPG guerrillas dead, İlboğa was acting as a human shield.
Cenap İlboğa had gone to Tendürek Mountain on 11 April to prepare the activity to plant trees together with Cezmi Budak. Following one-month treatment, he was discharged from hospital yesterday, soon after which he was immediately arrested by police officers who were keeping guard on him in the hospital. İlboğa left the hospital building on crutches and with the help of two relatives as he was having difficulty in walking.
MEYADER Ağrı branch representative has been formally arrested today and sent to Erzurum H Type Closed Prison for allegedly "being member of an illegal organization" and "receiving instructions" from it.
In clashes that broke out as a result of what HPG said was a pinpoint raid by Turkish troops on 11 April, Cezmi Budak, former branch chair of HDP in Diyadin, and HPG guerrillas Serhat Kızılay (Canfeda Serhat) and Yıldırım Mat (Delil Dozwan) lost their lives when troops opened fire.
