The two people killed in Kayapýnar (Diyarbakýr) on Saturday morning were two Kurdish guerrillas. Mekin Kar (Xebat Rodi) and A. A. (Navdar) were born in Siirt and Sur (Diyarbakýr).

Fifty people were detained in Diyarbakýr following the demonstration against the massacre by the Turkish army in the village of Roboski in which 35 people died.

The end of 2011 in Turkey was marked by yet more blood and repression.
