More than 3,000 buildings heavily damaged by earthquakes in Amed

Damage assessment has been completed in the provinces and district centres of Amed city, which was massively hit by the Maraş-centred earthquake. In a statement on social media, the Amed Urban Protection and Solidarity Platform said: "Damage assessment in Diyarbakır’s centre and districts has been completed. Teams continue to assess the damage in some rural neighborhoods."
The damage assessment report revealed that out of 159,832 buildings, 22 buildings were destroyed, 66 buildings should be demolished urgently, 3,252 buildings were heavily damaged, 2,828 were moderately damaged, and 32,652 buildings were slightly damaged.
The report said that no damage was seen in 97,383 buildings, and 13,842 buildings were excluded from the assessment. While the report gave no information as to why 13,842 buildings were excluded from the assessment, it noted that 2,892 buildings were not assessed, and 6,895 others remained locked.
