MSD’s Ehmed: Our democratic project will reach its goal

Reiterating that the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) is ready to meet with the regime forces for the future of Syria, MSD co-chair İlham Ehmed said that only an organized youth will make Syria a democratic and free country.

Raqqa Youth Council Congress is continuing. Many young people join the congress from Cizire and Fırat (Euphrates) regions.

Speaking at the Congress, Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) co-chair, Ilham Ehmed said they are ready to meet with regime officials for Syria's new constitution.

Ilham Ehmed pointed out that the ongoing war in the south of Syria continues in line with the alliances that Russia and the USA made with armed groups in the region.

"Some of the armed groups in this region surrendered and moved to other parts of Syria. This is done within the framework of the demographic change policies in Syria", she said.

Ehmed said that the war in Syria has also manifested the approach of forces in the region to Syria and its peoples and added: "Despite all the attacks and obstacles, our democratic project will reach its goal".

Reiterating that the Syrian Democratic Council is ready to meet with the regime forces to discuss a democratic and free future, İlham Ehmed said: "We are fighting for a democratic Syria and we will continue to fight for it. Syria will be the home of all peoples, not only of one ethnicity or family. We are always ready to meet with the regime officials for talks on a new Syrian constitution."

İlham Ehmed emphasized that the only force able to democratize Syria would be an organized and aware youth.
