NAV-YÊK issued a written statement and said: "The Yazidi community is facing a new massacre and conspiracy process."

The statement said: "As a result of the support provided to the fascist Erdogan regime-Turkish state, the KDP-Hewler and Baghdad governments, have paved the way to the worst genocide of the 21st century, carried out by ISIS mercenaries in 2014.” The Yazidi community is still under threat, said the statement, adding: “The same forces that caused and paved the way to the genocide carried out on 3 August 2014, are now putting into effect a new plan and conspiracy process, which they named the "Shengal treaty", the treaty signed on 9 October 2020. With this treaty, the Baghdad-Hewler-Ankara governments are trying to destroy the achievements or the Yazidi people, obtained thanks to the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.”

The statement reminded that the “Baghdad and Hewlêr governments left the Yazidi community at the mercy of ISIS in 2014 and lost their sovereignty over Shengal. They have no legitimacy with the Shengal and Yazidi community. The Yazidi society has decided to live with self-governance and a unique and free status and will not give up on this. It will not bow to the threats and blackmail of Erdogan and his allies, and will resist to the end with his friends and allies.”

The statement called “on all our people and our friends to stand up for freedom, stability and the autonomy of Shengal.”
