Including Aðrý BDP president Mustafa Akyoland the city centre president Hanifi Demir, 21 people have been taken into custody today in Aðrý province and Doðubayazýt district. Arrests followed house raids at BDP Office, Doðubayazýt Municipality, Orhan Doðan Education House and many houses.

Eight people who haven’t been found at raided houses in Doðubayazýd district are reported wanted by police.

Police also raided many houses in Diyarbakýr and Bitlis today. Including Dicle News Agency reporter Ararat Aras and former BDP Diyarbakýr chair Sudan Güven, at least five people have been taken into custody.

The new arrests came on the eve of the new hearing of the trial against over one hundred Kurdish politicians arrested in December 2009 in the context of the so called KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) operation.
