No peace in Van as ye another fairly strong earthquake hit the region this morning. The earthquake had its epicentre in the village of Akçift and was of 4.4 magnitude.

The tremor was registered this morning at 6.14. There are no reports of wounded or damages.

Van was hit by two strong earthquakes on October 23 and November 9. The two quakes had magnitudes of 7.2 and 5.6, respectively, killed 644 people and left thousands of others homeless.

Children are those suffering most as harsh living conditions in tents are taking their toll, with many kids killed in accidental fires often caused by the need to seek heath in a particularly cold winter.
