Nine HDP and DBP executives remanded in custody in Iğdır

15 HDP and DBP executives who were taken into custody in Iğdır were taken to court after 12 days in custody. Nine of them were remanded in custody.

The fifteen politicians were taken into custody following raids at their houses on March 17. Among the detained people were Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Iğdır Central District co-chair Şemam Kalkan and HDP Provincial Assembly members.

The politicians finally appeared in front of the prosecutor's office 12 days after their arrest.

Following the statements of the court, Kemal Kum, Alican Celayir, Ahmet Karaca, Sadık Aras, Sıddık Kırang and Neşegül Can were released on the condition of submitting to judiciary control while Şemam Kalkan, Selami Çekim, Abdullah Tosun, Tarzan Güner, Aynur Timur, Nuri Irkın, Kemal Turan, Yener Akaslan and Halis Güney were remanded in custody accused of being member of an illegal organization.

The arrested politicians were taken to Patnos L Type Closed Prison.
