Nine people remanded in custody in Urfa and Mardin

Nine people detained in a political police operation carried out between 15 and 25 June in Urfa were sent to prison charged with "membership of an illegal organization".

Ten people were taken into custody in Suruç and Viranşehir (Urfa) and Mardin between 15 and 25 June. They were sent to Urfa Courthouse after completing their procedures at the police station.

Hamdullah Özkıran, Mahmut Parsak, Ibrahim Basiyan, Mahsum Temel, Mahsum Demir, Mehmet Salih Eliş, Murşit Arslan, Osman Başkut and Şahin Basiyan, were accused by the Prosecutor of "membership of a terrorist organization" and "aiding and abetting an illegal organization". The nine were sent to prison by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace, to which they were transferred and taken to Urfa T Type Closed Prison.

One person in Mardin was released on condition of judicial control

Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Council member, Cengiz Temelli, who was detained within the scope of the same investigation, was released on the condition of judicial control.

Citizens Mikail Akgöbek, Abdullah Basiyan, Abdurrahman Mutlu, Mustafa Başkut and Orhan Demircan, who were taken into custody on 25 and 29 June within the scope of the same investigation were also arrested on the same grounds. The number of those arrested rose to 14.
