The AKP Government, which has covered up the massacre of 34 people by planes at Roboski, has rubbed salt into the wounds by putting up election posters in Şirnex boasting: “We are building our own war planes.”

On 28 December 2011 at Roboski 34 people were killed. Families of those who died protested at the AKP posters, which were put on billboards in the city prior to the rally the Prime Minister Ahmet and HDP candidates gathered in Freedom Square to commemorate those who died in the massacre.

Erdoğan’s real face

People carried photographs of those who died and placards reading ‘This is the real face of Erdoğan’. Veli Encü spoke, condemning the AKP for producing such election propaganda instead of revealing the truth behind the massacre.

After protests the posters were taken down

Encü called on everyone to vote for the HDP for the sake of democratisation in Turkey. Subsequently, the posters were taken down and replaced with posters saying: “We are producing our own electric cars.”
