The number of people who lost their lives in the earthquake that hit Izmir on 30 October has reached 83 while 962 people, many in critical conditions, have been injured.
After 58 hours from the earthquake, 14-year-old Idil Şirin was rescued from the wreckage of Emrah Apartment. About 65 hours after the earthquake, 3-year-old Elif Perinçek was also recovered from the wreckage of Doğanlar Apartment.
Search and rescue activities are said to be continuing in 6 buildings but some families said the state's work is going on slowly. One of the people who has a relative still under the wreckage said: "The state said that this morning it would start working on the wreck where my nephew is, but nothing has happened yet."
