The 66th birthday of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan was also celebrated on Mishtenûr Hill in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, last night.

Traditional Kurdish folk dance 'halay' was performed around the fires lit on the hill where the celebration was attended by large numbers of people including civilians, commanders of the YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) and administrators of the Kobanê Canton.

YPG/YPJ fighters joined the celebration from their emplacements, also dancing halay and opening fire into the air.

Fireworks on the hill brightened the night in Kobanê where celebrations continued till late night.
