Once an ISIS captive, Haci is now serving his people

After 113 days of captivity in an ISIS prison, Mezil Haci Haci is now at the service of his people in Deir ez-Zor security (asayish) forces.

Mezil Haci Haci is a member of Internal Security Forces of Manbij. Soon after the launch of the Operation Cizire Storm, Haci voluntarily came to Deir ez-Zor and now he is working for the public security (asayish) force there. He says he will stay in Deir ez-Zor until the end of the operation and serve the people who are suffering like people of Manbij did before the liberation from ISIS.

When ISIS gangs occupied Manbij they started to execute their infamous atrocity against the people. One day, right after the morning prayer, Haci was arrested by ISIS along with his brother, some two weeks before the launch of the Manbij liberation campaign. He was then imprisoned for 113 days.

ISIS gangs suspected that Haci and his brother were helping Manbij Military Council that was preparing to liberate the city back then.

“They arrested us 10-15 days before the operation. We were severely beaten during the first days. After a while, they finally started to treat us good. They wanted us to join them. They gave us jihad lessons during our imprisonment. But we didn’t join them” he said.

Mentioning the pain and atrocity suffered by people of Deir ez-Zor, Haci said “I came here because I wanted to take sides with my people and help their evacuation to secure areas. We rescue the families and try to catch the ISIS members disguised among them.”

Haci remarked that he feels great when he fulfils his duties of security in the liberated areas of Deir ez-Zor, adding; “The families are happy to see us. We suffered the same pain with them. We are helping the families who escape from ISIS cruelty and heat the desert without food and water. Then we settle them in camps. We are serving our people. I ease my conscience by fulfilling my duty. I will be here in Deir ez-Zor until it is liberated from ISIS.”
