A group fascist people attacked with machetes on the people and tried to burn alive a HDP member, Aydın Taşkesen, at the party's rally in Erzurum on 4 June, which was participated by tens of thousands at İstasyon Square. The group first set Aydın Taşkesen’s car on fire and then forced him into the car while it was terribly on fire. Only 6 of the attackers have been detained today.
The Erzurum Governor was more occupied with the broken window of the AKP election office in the city rather than the massacre attempt of the fascist groups against the people joining the HDP rally.
It has been reported that one of the detainees, I.K, was ascertained to be the one who battered Taşkesen after he sustained critical wounds in the fire. The other detainees, .Ç., F.B., O.S. and Ü.D, are the ones who appeared on the pictures on media with machetes in their hands. The detainees have been taken to police headquarters in Erzurum.
As many as 200 people, including 2 seriously, were wounded in the attack carried out on the HDP rally in Erzurum on 4 June, while 180 vehicles were damaged.
